Accessories and Scanners                                                              IN STOCK

Low-profile earpiece with coiled cord                                                                                                             EAR-2

Clear earplug and coiled tube, a 24" long cord (from the plug to the clip), extends to 48", and a heavy-duty clip to attach the cord to your collar or shirt.  Plugs into any standard 3.5 mm jack. Listen to your scanner without being obvious about it. You've probably seen earpieces like this being worn by police, FBI, SWAT, TV anchors, etc. You need one.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           $25

                                               Low-profile earpiece/mike for ham and commercial 2-way radios                                                                     EAR-3

Has the low-profile earpiece like the above earpiece, a straight cord,, plus a small mike with a convenient clip, and a push-to-talk button on the mike.  Has the somewhat-standard 2-plug connector used by ICOM and so many other radios.  Kenwood uses a different format, so this won't work for those radios

Just like the one that comes with the radio.  RS-232 serial connector on one end, radio connector on the other.   Use the Uniden UASD programming software, or one of the other packages that is available..

GRE and Radio Shack Scanner Programming Cable                                                                                                        PC-2

This is the cable that comes with the GRE radios, or that you buy separately from Radio Shack.  The computer end has a USB connector, and the radio end is a 3-conductor mini-plug. Programs virtually any GRE or Radio Shack software-programmable scanner made in the last 5 years.  Use with the appropriate programming software for your radio.  If you don't have the software, Starrsoft has excellent programming software, and Butel is also very popular.  There is a 30-day free trial period on both.

If you don't see your GRE or Radio Shack scanner listed on one of these sites, it is not really software programmable (such as the Radio Shack  PRO-94).

Uniden or Radio Shack scanner battery pack                                                                                                                  BP-180

Replacement 800 mAh 4.8 volt nickel-cadmium battery pack for Uniden BC-235, BC-245, BC-250, BC-296D, Radio Shack PRO-90, and many other earlier scanners that use the BP-120 or BP-180 battery pack.  Hard to find, and now available!

Small commercial 800 MHz antenna                                                                                                                                                      ANT-1

This is a 4" high antenna for your scanner or 800 MHz 2-way.  Has a BNC connector (the bayonet-type connector used on Radio Shack and GRE scanners, and earlier Uniden scanners).  Will fit most scanners, including the BCD-396T or XT, if you use the SMA to BNC adapter that comes with the radio.  Designed to work best on 800, not just fairly well on all bands like the stock antenna, and it still receives other bands, too.  It's shorter than the fat stock antenna, which helps keep it out of your ribs, and the lower part covers the antenna connector very nicely.
